The Fender Standard Stratocaster is THE electric guitar to have in your collection. What makes this the "standard" strat? Simple: sound and playability. Although there will be arguements on what is the "best" Strat, most guitar players (and we're including past and present guitar heros) agree that the American Standard offers the absolute best upgrades to this masterpiece. The improved floating bridge works well and can be set to actually allow for real tremolo action without pulling the guitar out of tune, plus the bridge saddles are substantial and can be set for exacting intonation. Add the sealed tuning machines, which keep the guitar very much in tune, hand-rolled fingerboard edges and alnico V pickups for that magic Strat tone that catapulted the likes of Jimi Hendrix and Mark Knopfler and you have the best improvements on a guitar that gets you as close to perfection as a guitar can get.
